is a Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School since 1982 and the co-author of the best-selling book Leadership on the Line. He was a Massachusetts State Representative, Boston Globe editorial writer, Chief Secretary to Massachusetts Governor, and is Co-Founder of a leadership consulting firm. His global teaching and consulting practice has brought him to several Middle Eastern countries. He has published extensively on leadership, management, politics, and education and authored or co-authored over a dozen books and chapters.
